Who’s the Poker Nerd?
Let’s get the obvious answer out of the way. Who’s the Poker Nerd? At the risk of being confused with many a level one tech support person (100% correct and 100% useless,) I am.
To expand a little player, I’m a poker player and, yes, a bit of a nerd. I’m not a nerd in all things. I have what my wife calls blend (and, as further proof, I have a wife.) More correctly speaking, I’m probably more of a geek or a wonk. There are certain topics that I think about obsessively, well beyond how much normal participants do. One of them is poker.
In addition to being a poker player, I’m also a computer programmer. While programming has paid better and more consistently, I’ve paid the bills with both. Most enjoyably, I’ve been paid to program software that plays poker.
As either a programmer or a poker player alone, I wouldn’t have much of a blog. But, I’m hoping that the confluence of the two will be interesting enough to keep you reading.
